Part of our journey was to find some "hidden gems" across America. Greenville, SC is definitely one of those gems, albeit maybe not so hidden with a population of about 75,000. I wasn't even planning to post about the city since it was just a one night stop on our way to Asheville, but the city is to cool not to at least mention it.
We stayed at a Harvest Host (Dunean Methodist Church) in Greenville and took a five minute drive to downtown. We had dinner at Southernside Brewing Company, which is a dog friendly restaurant adjacent to Unity Park. It's a 60 acre multi-use park that includes large grass areas, restaurants, baseball field, pickleball courts, walking/riding paths and pedestrian bridges that cross the Reedy River which winds through Greenville. Very cool atmosphere and very family friendly.

After dinner we drove through downtown and could see why Greenville is ranked as the fourth best place to live in the US by US News & World Report. Beautiful, vibrant city! We were there on a Wednesday night and the city was bustling with people out for dinner, jogging, socializing, etc.
Wish we would've had a few more nights to explore and take pictures to capture the vibe of the city. I didn't have enough pictures to add anything to the "Pictures" section. Normally we might have altered our plans and stayed a few extra days, but we already had definitive plans at our next stops. We are way to excited about those stops to make changes (you'll see why in my post next week) but don't pass up the opportunity to spend some time in Greenville, SC if you have the opportunity.
