On The Road Again!

Hello All - I know. I know. I said I'd post while we were home for December but I also said that I'd only post when I had the time. 😛 We had a great time seeing friends and family for the holidays but I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures while we were home. I did post some in the "Pictures" section. Include a few of Melissa's son, Kenyon, proposing to his girlfriend, Natalie. She said yes! Woohoo!!

Funny story: On Christmas Eve, we had a gas leak in the house we were renting. Nothing significant but I called the Gas Company on Christmas morning to come check it out. Well...they agreed that we had a leak, shut the gas off, and put a lock on the meter. Said to call them when it was fixed. 😧🤣 We were having family over for Christmas dinner but couldn't use the oven. No worries. We'll just use the BBQ. Except is was out of propane. No worries. We found a grocery store that was open on Christmas and sold propane. Fortunately, Melissa had already pre-made all the side dishes and we ended up having a great dinner. The folks that own the house were in Argentina for the holidays but they were wonderful to work with. They paid for a hotel room that was literally a one minute car ride from the house. We stayed at the house and just used the hotel room for a warm shower until the gas line got fixed. All good!

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They make the best of everything.

Now we're back on the road!! The flight from Los Angeles to Orlando was easy peasy and the dogs were awesome once again. No issues. Betty and Lou were exactly as they were when we stored them. Turned on the power, saddled up the bikes, hooked up Lou, and we were off to the Walmart Supercenter. That's right...for the first time, we spent a night in a Walmart parking lot. It was in a very nice area and very well lit so no worries. Worked out great because we had removed ALL food from the RV before we left but we were able to stock up at Walmart in the morning before we headed to St. Augustine.

I'll give more details about St. Augustine, Florida and Ocean Grove RV Resort early next week but I will tell you that they have a jacuzzi that we've already enjoyed several times.

Hope you all had amazing holidays and a good start to the new year. We did! But it also feels wonderful to be back on our adventure. Stay tuned!
