Sorry. This post is long overdue! Just been crazy busy.

Our drive from Ft Lauderdale to Orlando was just under 4 hours. When we're on our way to a new resort/park, Melissa will check to see if there's anything we should be aware of at the next place. For example: tight turn into the park, low hanging trees, easier entrance around corner, etc. So we're rollin' down the road and she starts to check on Kissimmee RV Park. The conversation goes something like this:

Melissa: "Why did we chose this place?"

Kevin: "What do you mean?"

Melissa: "The reviews are not very good."

Kevin: "Really?"

Melissa: "Yes. RV Life has it at 7.something out of 10."

Side note - we normally don't stay at places with a rating under 9.0.

Melissa: "Reviews say it's mostly full-time residents. Old and kinda run down. Tight sites. Only 30 amp electric. Minimal amenities, etc."

Kevin: "Are there any good reviews?"

Melissa: "Yes, for sure. But more negative then we would usually chose."

Kevin: "And they weren't very friendly when I asked them if I could store the RV there for a month when we fly home."

Another side note - I wasn't asking for a site with hook-ups. Just a level place to park it and lock it up. Their answer was simply "no RV storage". Well...here's a picture of the sign at their entrance. 🤔

Anyways, we continued our conversation:

Kevin: "Well...are there other parks in the area that are better?"

Melissa: "I'm already on it and there's a KOA less than 2 miles from the other park and it has great reviews! Lots of grass. Level concrete sites. Heated pool. Hot tub. Gym. Full hook ups with 50 amp electric, etc."

Kevin: "What are you waiting for? Call 'em."

Well...the KOA was almost entirely booked but they could get us in for one night and then we could move to a different site within the park for the next four nights. Done! We didn't even bother going to Kissimmee RV Park. Straight to the KOA, which turned out to be exactly as advertised and the staff was awesome! The next day we rode our bikes to the other park because we were wondering if it would have been ok. We DEFINITELY made the right decision to stay at the KOA!

The main reasons we stayed in Orlando is because we wanted to see Epcot and we were flying out of Orlando to go home for December.

We had a blast at Epcot. We boarded the dogs and spent the entire day riding rides, eating, drinking, laughing, and meandering through different countries. Felt like an all-day date! If you go to Epcot, try to get a reservation for Geo-82. It's an adults only bar and feels like a speakeasy because it's a little hard to find. Great drinks and atmosphere!

I found a great RV storage facility about 30 minutes from the Orlando airport. Top Notch RV Storage was easy to work with and their facility was very clean and secure. WAY better than Kisssimmee RV Park would have been.

So we said goodbye to the staff at the KOA (did I mention that they were amazing 😁), parked Betty and Lou in storage, and headed for the airport. This was one of the days that we were most nervous about on our journey. Stella and Rita had never flown before and we had a six hour non-stop flight home. Well...they were AMAAAAZING! No issues what so ever. Seasoned travelers.

Now we're back in SoCal for December to see lots of friends and family. It's been awhile and it's great catching up. Also lots of appointments (dentist, doctor, optometrist, hair, etc). I'll post a few times while we're here but, in the meantime, enjoy the season!
