Franconia Notch KOA Campground was a much smaller campground than we just came from. Loved our site on the river! Great place to enjoy breakfast and dinner.

Folks have started to notice our California license plates as we've gotten further from home and it opens up conversations. We met several nice people on this stay.
Spent an afternoon in Littleton which was incorporated in 1784. Girls particularly liked the pet store that Stella told you about. I had to include a few pictures of the window boxes filled with spring flowers and a few that will made no sense. Like the one from the Chinese restaurant that says "Lunch Buffett, Dinner Buffet" and then posts a sign that says "No Buffet". Huh? Or the one that says "Open 7 days" but they're closed on Mon, Tues, and Wed.

On the same day that we explored Littleton, we had our standard early evening downpour. Actually worked out ok since the dogs and I got to watch some tv while Melissa went shopping. Rain eventually stopped and it was cool to hear the river as we went to sleep that night.
Beautiful drive on some country roads to see Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch State Park. It's just over a two mile hike but it had some decent inclines. Definitely exceeded our expectations with it's beauty. Reminded us of a smaller version of Kanarra Falls that we visited in Utah and the covered bridges were charming.

Took a short drive over to Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway which was the first passenger aerial tramway in North America. Originally built in 1938 to take skiers to higher peaks of the mountain, today it also offers visitors a spectacular view where, on a clear day, you can see four different states and mountains in Canada. It was a nice day and we grabbed a quick bite at the summit, but visibility was a little hazy.
The beauty of Vermont and New Hampshire is stunning. We've heard so many great things about Maine that we hope Bar Harbor (our next stop) lives up to expectations. We'll let you know.
