As I mentioned in my last post, this should be about Outer Banks but Hurricane Erin made sure that we wouldn't be seeing Outer Banks. So, just a short post about Four Oaks, NC.
Really isn't much to see in Four Oaks so we stayed on-site for the most part, except for a few bikes ride and a visit to Walmart. Woohoo!
BUT, if you happen to find yourself in Four Oaks, I definitely recommend staying at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort & Cottages. I assure you it's the nicest RV resort in the area. Very well maintained resort with great pool area (including hot tub), mini golf, pickle ball courts, cornhole, large pull-thru sites with lots of grass, three dog parks, billiards room, free waffles & juice on weekend mornings, and a taco truck on Saturday night. We didn't play pickle ball but took advantage of everything else.

If you're a car racing fan, I'd also recommend Wake County Speedway in Raleigh on a Friday night during race season. Melissa hung with the dogs for movie night in the RV while I made the 45 minute drive to the races. Free parking and only $12 admission for us guys over 55 years old. Family oriented track with a great announcer and promoter. Great racing and lots of fan interaction. Live band at intermission played everything from Toby Keith to Black Sabbath. Worth the drive! Had a great time.

That, my friends, is the full update for Four Oaks, NC. As always, there's a few pics in the "Pictures" section but not many. The drive to Charleston was a little longer than we expected today but we've had good weather so it was easy peasy. We'll be here for eight nights so plenty of time to see lots of stuff. Rita and Stella have been bugging me to write again so I'll let them provide their own updates soon.
Hope you enjoyed the weekend. Make it a great week!
