Well...like a said in my previous post, Sun Retreats Avalon was the most lively resort we'd been to. That place was goin' off when we pulled in! It was cool to see so many families having a great time. Kids everywhere. Friendly parents. The resort has 525 sites and most of them are seasonal residences, meaning folks have a permanent site and they come for the summer months. Normally, we wouldn't prefer a resort this big but this place was fun. Very well maintained and people took pride in their sites. Great pool area and a private beach on the lake. Tons of activities for everyone. They were finishing up Country week when we arrived and, as it turned out, that Saturday night was the last night for many of the seasonal residents before returning to their working worlds. Therefore, they were in party mode! Great country band considering we were at an RV resort in Cape May, NJ. Things slowed down quite a bit the next few days but we still loved the resort and our lakefront site. Luau week was starting when we left but it was time to go for us.

Cape May and the surrounding area aren't particularly dog friendly but we did take them with us to visit the local beaches on our first day. Melissa found Rusty Nail, a great place for lunch with a beach vibe and tables in the sand. Then a short drive to the Washington Street Mall which is a must see if you're in Cape May. In my opinion, calling it a "mall" doesn't do it justice. Yes, there's tons of shops but it feels more like Main Street at Disneyland. Unfortunately, because it's not dog friendly, we were limited where we could go.

Ocean City was about 25 minutes from our resort but totally worth the drive. The town is upscale with beautiful Victorian style homes but the boardwalk is the main attraction. It's incredible! About 2.5 miles long and 50 feet wide, it's a mixture of amusement park, restaurants, shops, etc. Very clean and safe. Would have been a mistake not to visit so I recommend it for sure!

Melissa's son, Kenyon, and his girlfriend, Natalie, joined us for our stay in Cape May so you'll see them in lots of pictures. We rented them a travel trailer at the resort so we could all have our own space but still spend plenty of time together before they headed back to California.

Our travel day yesterday was awesome! Easy 30 minute drive to the ferry. 90 minute ferry ride and we didn't even have to leave the RV. Pulled it on the ferry, made cocktails and lunch, and did what all other fun-loving adults would do. 😮😁🤫 Drove off the ferry and 40 minutes later we arrived at Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay Resort in Delaware.

I'll finish by saying that a few weeks back, we had some campgrounds that weren't our favorites. They can't all be favorites, right? To be fair, we knew we were gonna have a few of these and the campground fees were appropriate. That being said, it's sooooo nice to be back to nicer resorts. I started ranking our resorts/campgrounds (more on that in a different post) and Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay is probably gonna be highly ranked. We're here for four days and we decided to just chill and enjoy the resort. No day trips. Private beach steps from our site. Heated pool with swim up bar. Three restaurants serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Melissa said she's not cooking while we're here). Paddle boards, etc. Live music. Bingo night. Heck, they have happy hour everyday from 3:00-5:00 at the pool bar and then happy hour at the tiki bar from 5:00-7:00.

Stay tuned....

Ugh, I feel your pain on sites, I like to think I do the research and somehow we have found ourselves stuck in for 6 days probably one of the worst sites in our 3 years traveling. Anyway enjoy your great spot in Rehoboth, beautiful area the produce stands are amazing!!

Hi Nicole - Sorry about your current site but I hear you guys are on quite the journey as well. I guess we have to have a few bad ones to appreciate the good ones. 😛 We've loved Rehoboth!
