Sorry it's been a while but we've been busy having fun. Hasn't been a lot of time to write.
There are no RV "resorts" in Cape Cod so we weren't thrilled with any of our options. That being said, I'll say a few words about Sweetwater Forest Campground. Hated it. The End.😂 Ok, there were a few good things: large sites with foliage around them, nice lake on the property, and a great dog park 3 minutes away. I will also say that it had some cool stuff we didn't use including a game room for teenagers, mini golf, corn hole, etc. We may have used these if we weren't doing day trips to surrounding areas. Now, what we didn't like: the roads are dirt. Not gravel, not pavement, not concrete. Dirt! The sites are dirt. Not gravel, not pavement, not concrete, not grass. Dirt! The entrance to the park is over a quarter mile of road and, you guessed it, it's dirt. So the Betty, Lou, and the Crew were always dirty. Only 30 amp electrical (instead of 50 amp) so we couldn't run both ACs when it was 90 degrees without tripping the breaker. No pool. Enough said. It was centrally located to what we wanted to see so it served it's purpose but I don't recommend it.
Now, let's talk about Cape Cod.

Sooo fun! On our arrival day, we took a short drive to Chatham, a typical small town in Cape Cod with shops, restaurants, flower boxes, etc. Enjoyed the town including our stop at a very cool tropical bar that had a very Hawaiian feeling. Then back to our campground to get cleaned up before going to dinner with Sean and Julie. Sean and I worked together for 20+ years. They have a great place on the Cape with a private beach and families that have been neighbors forever. Such a cool vibe! They treated us to cocktails at their house and then dinner at an outdoor restaurant that is EXTREMELY popular with the locals. You'll see the line waiting to order in the "Pictures" section. Great night sharing stories. Thanks again Sean and Julie!
The next morning, I met Sean early for my forte into "quahogging". Which means we had a nice walk to the outer banks of their beach and then went digging for clams. Would have loved to have kept the clams to make soup but Melissa and I had exploration plans for the next two days which wouldn't allow the time to make soup.

That same day we took the dogs and headed to Provincetown (aka P Town). It's quite a unique town with a majority of gay residents. We got rain a few hours after we got there so we didn't get a lot of pictures. But I hope you appreciate the ones we did and they captured the vibe. Gay men, women, and families along with a lot of tourists makes for a lot of fun. Definitely a general acceptance of being whoever you are. Drag shows, bars, shops, etc.

The following day we took the girls with us to Nantucket as well. Nantucket is about an hour ferry ride off the Cape and is very charming. Lots of high end shops and lodging. We hopped on the island bus and took the 20 minute ride to the eastern coast which reminded of us of beaches in California. Got introduced to the "mystery" drink at Millie's Bar which is essentially a strong Mai Tai. They say the "mystery" is what happens after you drink a few. Then we rented bikes to ride the island. You gotta check out the videos of Rita and Stella riding in style. We stopped at a preserve that used to be a 9-hole golf course but now is a great place where dogs roam off leash. Then a late lunch at a dog friendly restaurant with picnic tables and lots of grass for the girls. Finished off the day with cocktails near the port before taking the ferry back. What a great day on a beautiful island!

We were up and at it early the next day. We stored Betty at Sweetwater Forest and boarded the girls at Pawmenities, a local place with great reviews. We loved Cape Cod but we were also really excited to get away for two nights on our own in Martha's Vineyard. Hopped on the early ferry to maximize our time on The Vineyard. It was also about an hour ferry ride and I'll write about our stay in my next post coming soon.

Thanks for the storyline.......who is your ghost writer? Hahaha
Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard is super scenic with epic restaurants. Miss being there with ya!
