Great time in Alexandria even with some unexpected twists. We were supposed to be seeing our friends, Jeff and Sherrie, but Sherrie's dad is having some serious health issues so she was in California. Our thoughts are with Sherrie and her dad.
We missed Sherrie but still had a great time with Jeff. Wonderful host! His house is on Lake Darling, which is just one lake of nine that are part of the chain-of-lakes. Plenty of opportunities for all the boating activities, fishing, swimming, etc. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't very cooperative. I think it rained for two days straight at one point. We took advantage when we could and had two evenings of beautiful cruising on several of the lakes. So fun!
Alexandria is a great town. Big enough to have everything you need but small enough to have a small town feel. We've been on the road about six weeks so it was time to take care of a few things. Melissa got her hair done (lookin' good!!) and I got a haircut. Trips to Target, gym, post office, Chevy dealer, etc. All caught up now.
We enjoyed a few hours at Wings Over Alexandria, a small airshow featuring vintage airplanes. We had a perfect Friday night at Carlos Creek Winery. Wine for Melissa, beer for Jeff, and tequila for me. Live music. Good food. And the dogs were welcomed.

Mostly just chilled around the house the rest of our stay. Smoked ribs one night. Well done Jeff! Movie nights. US Open golf. NASCAR race. I think Melissa has seen enough sports for a while. :)
Arrived in Neshonoc Lakeside Campground yesterday evening after a stop at Camping World (more on that in my next post). We woke up this morning to sunshine and blue skies!! Sweet baby Jesus!! We've been on the road for 42 days and we've had some sort of rain on 38 of those days. Hasn't slowed us down but I'm sure you can sense my excitement to have a full day of sunshine....hopefully.

Tell Melissa her hair looks fab!
