Updated Itinerary & Unsolicited (Sort of) Advice

We started our adventure on Cinco de Mayo with our first stop in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bar Harbor, Maine was our farthest Northeast stop. Now we're in Key West, Florida, which is our farthest Southeast stop. Seemed like a logical time to finish up our itinerary so...

The second half of our USA tour has been set. Tickets will be on sale soon! Ok...let's don't get carried away. We're rolling in Betty, not a tour bus. 😁 But here's a picture of our updated map and you can check out our updated itinerary in the "Itinerary" section.

I mentioned in the "About" section that I may provide a little advice based on our experience throughout our journey. We've been on the road for six months now so here's a couple tidbits.

"Not all who wander are lost". I've seen this quote many times and I love it. If your wanderlust allows you to "go where the wind takes you", then by all means do it. You only live once! Melissa and I love to wander. Sometimes. But not for an entire year. So when I get asked, "What is the one piece of advice that I might have for someone considering a RV journey?", my answer is always the same: Plan!

If you prefer to stay off the grid and rough it more, than don't bother reading this paragraph. We've found that we prefer RV resorts with more amenities and we want to see lots of cool places throughout the US. So planning ahead has allowed us to do both. We're having a blast on our journey because we don't spend a lot of time trying to figure out where we're going next, how we're gonna get there, are we missing somewhere we could have seen, etc. We already did the planning (yes, we spent months doing it before we left) and now we're just enjoying the fruits of our labor. So fun!! We usually don't want to leave where we're staying because we chose the location for a reason. BUT we're usually excited about where we're going because....we chose the location for a reason. We leave time for adjustments as we see fit but it's a LOT less stressful having a tentative (actually pretty solid) plan. Doing it in advance also allowed us to pick some of the best sites (waterfront, larger site, near pool, etc.) in the parks/resorts that we stay at.

Now we've got some great places lined up for 2026 as well!

I'll share some more thoughts in future posts but that's it for now. Don't forget to check out the updated itinerary. Thanks for following along.

Hey Guys!

I know this sounds crazy but we realized when we started planning that we couldn't possibly see everything that we wanted to see in a year. So we decided to save the Pacific Northwest and the Central US for another trip.

Looking forward to seeing you when we fly home for the holidays!
