Brown...that's the best word I can think of to describe Santa Fe. I kept trying to convince myself that it had some beauty but I just couldn't get there. The historical plaza is nice with lots of upscale shops, museums and art galleries. But it's still brown. Santa Fe has strict building codes that require authentic Pueblo style adobe houses and buildings, so that's the look of everything. It's a very dry climate with almost no grass. Just keeping it real, it's not for me.

Santa Fe Skies is probably the nicest RV park in the area but, guess what? It's brown with lots of dirt and dust. Heck, it's on Brown Castel Road. That says it all. The driveway into the park is concrete, so that was nice. Our site was dirt, but it was level with full hook-ups and a nice concrete patio. No grass anywhere in the park but the dogs spent some time in the dog park with wood chips. Staff was great but there's really no amenities. It's very dark at night, so the night skies were beautiful and you could hear the coyote packs. One of the park owners loves old equipment and creates some unique art, which is displayed throughout the park. That dude has a welding machine, plenty of time, and an imagination. There's more pictures in the "Pictures" section. Again, unique but not for me.

All that being said, I don't wanna knock Santa Fe. One of our goals on this journey was to visit places in the US that we'd never been, so I'm glad we got to see it. We saw it. Won't need to go back.
Quick shout out to Sam & Diane, who I met at the dog park. They're from Colorado, but they were in Santa Fe purchasing a new RV to start their own year-long adventure. Have fun guys! You're gonna love it.
Melissa got back Monday night after a rough day of travel. Her departing flight was delayed due to a fueling issue, but she got to Phoenix just in time to rush to her connecting flight. Only to find out that the flight departed almost 10 minutes EARLY. Super frustrated with American Airlines! 😮🤬 No other flights to Santa Fe, so we went to plan B (we're good at that!). She spent almost four hours in Phoenix and then flew to Albuquerque, where I picked her up at 10:30pm and drove back to Santa Fe. All good. The Crew is back together.
Four days was more than enough time in Santa Fe, so we made some tweaks to our itinerary. Our next stop was supposed to be Taos. We'll visit it to check out the city but we decided to stay in Angel Fire, which is about a 30 minute drive from Taos. Angel Fire RV Resort looks like a great place so we're gonna go stay here for a week. Looking forward to it and I'll update you soon.
Make it a great week!
