I hope I don't sound like a broken record, but we had a great time in San Antonio! For complete disclosure, we didn't explore San Antonio, only the River Walk and a brief visit to The Alamo.
We found a wonderful woman through Rover to watch the girls for a few nights. We found the Texas Air Museum through Harvest Host, and that's where we parked Betty. Then we checked into our room with a balcony overlooking the River Walk at the Omni Hotel La Mansion. Adult time! Let's gooooo!

We hopped on one of the river boats for a 35 minute guided tour to learn a little bit about the area. Then lunch and cocktails before we set out to walk along the River, which is lined with lots of entertainment including restaurants, pubs, amphitheater, shops, etc. Durty Nelly's Irish Pub was one of our favorites and dinner at Ostra was exquisite. We certainly got our steps in over the next few days, but also made time for more meals and cocktails, pool time, and just hanging on our balcony.

It was about a 45 minute stroll along the River Walk to get to Pearl, a historic brewery complex that has been turned into a really cool multi-use area with apartments, Hotel Emma (really authentic and expensive), gathering areas, restaurants, and high-end shops. We enjoyed the walk and lunch!

We finished off our stay with a walk over to see The Alamo. You can't go to San Antonio without visiting The Alamo, but you won't need much time there. You can see everything in 30 minutes or so.

I would definitely encourage a weekend at the San Antonio River Walk and I'd recommend staying at a hotel directly on the River. We got a full night's sleep on our last night with no dogs in the bed, but we love our girls so we picked them up and headed for Marble Falls, TX. More on that in my next post.
Hope you're having a great week!

Crew,
Weather looks great in San Antone. We loved it there as well. I think I remember the bar at the Omni. Ostra looks awesome. I think we walked by but didn't eat there.
Have a blast on your next adventure!
