Obviously, our stay in Navarre, FL started a little unconventional since I had to fly home for several days after getting Melissa settled in. It was nice to get back to her and the dogs and take a few days to decompress after a tough trip home. Santa Rosa RV Resort was the perfect place. The resort is on the water and looks across the bay at Navarre Beach. Mature trees throughout the resort provide nice shade and all sites are level, concrete pads with full hook-ups. Very well kept with a nice beach, pool area, and fitness room. We used all of them. No hot tub but pool was heated to 87 degrees! Plenty of adirondack chairs on the beach to enjoy SPECTACULAR sunsets.

Many of the other folks at the resort spend months there every year and I can see why. Everyone was so nice! The staff was amazing and they planned some activity almost every day including bingo, ice cream social, and a cornhole tournament which was our favorite. It was like a backyard family gathering. Bring your own cocktails and they provide pizza and desserts. Great time!

The dogs loved the good-sized, sandy dog park and the dog beach where they could run off leash. It seemed like everyone at the resort had a dog (or two) so Stella and Rita made lots of new friends.

We had a mix of weather including sunshine, clouds, wind, and rain. We hung by the pool during the sunny days but our last day had substantial wind and rain which even included a tornado "watch". We learned that a "watch" just means the conditions are potentially ripe for a tornado. Had it changed to a "warning", we would have had to take shelter elsewhere. Fortunately, that never happened so I enjoyed the football games in the comfort of Betty.

Circumstances being what they were, we didn't have much time explore Navarre, so I can't tell you much about the city. It's about 45 minutes west of Miramar Beach which was our first stop in Florida. We spent a total of 63 days in the state and stayed in 14 different places, but today is our last day here. We're off to explore Biloxi, MS. Our plan was to do a little boating there, but temperatures are gonna be cold with highs in the 50s and some nights getting down into the 20s not including any windchill. Buuurrrr! All good. We've got each other so we'll stay warm.

Make it a great week!
