Betty and Lou were in Dallas for eight nights so this post should be about Dallas. Right? Well...it's not.
You wanna know what I saw in Dallas? Lake Shore RV Resort, which is actually in Garland, TX about 20 minutes from Dallas. That's all I saw! And I only saw it the night we arrived and the night before we left. It's a nice resort. Very new and clean. Level, concrete sites with full hook-ups. Nice clubhouse with a beautiful pool and hot tub. Well-kept city park just outside the gates of the resort with walks along the lake.

Like I said, I saw it for two nights. But in between those two nights....
We arrived in Dallas on Saturday so we could get Betty all set up at the resort. Sunday we dropped the dogs at a Rover before we headed to the airport to fly home. As most of you know, my mom passed away in January and last week we had her celebration of life. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather! And it provided us an opportunity to reflect, remember, laugh, and smile. We cried, but we did not mourn. We celebrated the life of a wonderful woman! Love ya Mom.❤️

Had to take advantage of being home for a few days, so Tuesday included dentist appointments, mail pick up, lunch and dinner with friends, etc. Of course, since we were home, we had to check on the boat. Nothing special (18' Grady White center console), but we love it, and rarely pass up the opportunity to get on the water. Perfect weather for an afternoon harbor cruise.

Wednesday was separation day. Yes, Melissa and I separated again. ☹️😛 She flew back to Dallas to pick up Stella and Rita. Then back to Betty to spend several days exploring the area, which included day trips to downtown Garland, McKinney and Dallas. Garland had a street fair when Melissa visited, which included a concert by Chayce Beckham, an American Idol winner. Rumor has it that she threw in a massage one day as well. Love ya Melissa.❤️ Thanks for taking care of our girls while I was away.
I flew to Vegas (Viva Las Vegas!!) to spend four nights with my son and 12 of his closest friends for his bachelor party. What a weekend!! We booked an AirBnB about 15 minutes from the strip. Huge house with king size beds for everyone. Game room with pool table, foosball, and poker table. Huge backyard with pool, jacuzzi, sand volley ball court and room for a Beer Die table (just google "beer die" if you don't know what it is).

Funny Story: Beer Die is played on a 4' by 8' table. You can use just about anything but we decided to get sheet of plywood and set it on two trash cans. It's customary to paint the table anyway you see fit. I went to the grocery store to pick up a few more things after our Costco run and my sons stayed behind to paint the table. It was a bachelor party so you'll know the table when you see it in the "Pictures" section. 🤣🤣
The weekend included dinners out, Topgolf, go kart racing, comedy club, hibachi dinner at the house, plenty of gambling, drinking and other debauchery. Check out the video of Garrett juggling at the hibachi dinner. I'm sure Garrett will remember the weekend (or at least most of it) for the rest of his life. Love ya son.❤️
Needless to say, I was hurting and ready for a good night's sleep when I finally got back to Dallas on Sunday afternoon. But we made time for dinner with friends that moved to Dallas last year. Stella reunited with her boyfriend Brody at Matt & Tina's house and they played a lot! Melissa got her baby fix with their wonderful son, Maverick. And we all enjoyed a delicious dinner.

Whew! We wrapped up a crazy week and left Dallas on Monday. One night stop in Wichita Falls, TX to break up the drive and then on to Amarillo for a few nights. More on that in my next post.
Hope you're having an awesome week!
