The drive to Lake Havasu was much more enjoyable than the drive to Sedona. Three hours across the desert but the weather was great for driving. Lake Havasu is 46+ square miles formed by the Colorado River to the north and the Parker Dam to the south. The lake serves as a natural border between California and Arizona. After the dam, the river continues south with lots of boating activities along the "Parker Strip". I spent a lot of time in this area through my college years so it's always fun to be back.

Islander RV Resort is nice. Not much grass but well kept. Pool area and hot tub are well laid out. Beach areas right on the water and lots of other amenities, including a fitness center, bocce ball, etc. We had a waterfront site set on a bluff that gave us a great view of the lake.

Most exciting part of this stop was that we were gonna see good friends. Mario and Sandee (who we visited in Park City) were bringing out their new motorhome to stay at the same resort for a few days. Sandee had to stay home for some important work but it was good seeing Mario. And they have a beautiful RV!
Then we left Betty and Lou, took the girls to a Rover, and hooked up with great friends from home, Jeff and Jenn. They picked us up on their boat right at our RV and the good times were on! We stayed at their lakefront home on the California side of the lake. Three days of boating, cruising the London Bridge channel, reminiscing, playing games, and of course lunch at Pirate's Cove Restaurant & Bar. Nothing better than sitting on their deck in the evening watching all the lights come on in the hills above the lake.

As always, there's more pics in the "Pictures" section, including the wild donkeys and an owl that showed up at Jeff & Jenn's house.
So...after more than 11 months of exploring the USA, we crossed back into California. We've been at Motorcoach Country Club in Indio (La Quinta) for the past three days, and we'll be here for the next 13 days. We saved the nicest resort for our last stop. This place is spectacular! More details in my next post but here's a sneak preview of our backyard that I took from the front window of our RV.

Enjoy the weekend!
