La Quinta, CA April 13th - 23rd

I haven't posted in ten days because we've been busy, but this will be part one of our stay in La Quinta, CA.

I have to start with my thoughts on Motorcoach Country Club. Wowza! I didn't even know places like this existed. This is a special place! Beautiful grounds with all the amenities you can imagine. Pools, hot tubs, tennis, pickle ball, bocce ball, dog parks, great fitness center, very nice restaurant & bar, etc. Additionally, there's waterways in the resort where folks cruise in their boats. There's a executive (Par 3) golf course that is well manicured. You can play anytime you want and there's no charge. Super convenient and fun!

All lots are privately owned but managed by the resort, if the owners chose to put them in the rental market while they're not using them. There are certainly amazing RVs here! And everyone is very social and fun. I posted a picture of our first site in my last post, but there's more pictures and a video in the "Pictures" section. Loved our site! Very lush with private pool, hot tub, casita, patio island, bbq, and firepit. We could walk right out the backyard and on to the golf course! Like I said, play anytime you want.

Our second night here, Melissa joined some of her girlfriend's for a night in Palm Springs to celebrate a few birthdays in the group. For those of you that have been following most of our trip, you know that this has been a recurring theme. 😛😎 Shout out to "The Gaggles" (name says it all). Love you all! Always plenty of laughter and good times when you're all together.

I chose a slightly quieter night, and hosted some friends (John, Liz, Clint, and Dayna) and our place. BBQ, wine, tequila, and a great night of catching up and sharing stories.

We had to make time for dinner and drinks and the Top of the Falls Restaurant on-site where the staff makes you feel like they've known you forever. Nice date night for Melissa and I.

My son, Nicholas, and his girlfriend, Chloe, joined us for three days. It's only about a three hour drive from where they live (LA area). Loved our time with them! Plenty of pool time, golf, and Rummikub games. Pretty cool to get out of the hot tub, put on a collared shirt, and play a few holes of golf in your swim trunks as the sun set over the mountains. Nicholas and I left the resort and played Shadow Hills Golf Course one day while Melissa and Chloe did lunch together. Our final night, we celebrated Nicholas' birthday with dinner at Tommy Bahama's Restaurant in Palm Desert. Good times!

Of course, we couldn't be in the area and not see dear friends, Paul & Cynthia, who have a place in Palm Desert. We joined them for cocktails at their place and then dinner at Eddie V's on El Paseo. Always a good time when we get together!

But wait...there's more! John & Liz, who I hosted earlier in the week, had us over to their place (they live in Rancho Mirage) for drinks and appetizers before having dinner at their on-site restaurant. Clint joined us as well. Their country club is beautiful and, once again, dinner with friends was terrific!

Told you we've been busy. 😁

We're not staying here to see historical sites or find hidden gems. Melissa is calling this our "soft landing" as we roll back home, so these few weeks will simply be time spent in a spectacular setting creating some more memories.

Now we start part two of our stay in La Quinta.

Yesterday, we had to move sites. Still in the same country club but our new site is on the waterway instead of the golf course. Here's a picture but I'll post more in my next post.

Starting tonight, we'll be attending Stagecoach, a 3-day country music festival. This kind of brings us full circle since we launched this crazy adventure shortly after Stagecoach last year. We have good friends who came out for the festival and are staying about 15 minutes from us. So...you probably guessed it, they hosted us for dinner last night. Gonna be a fun three days especially since Melissa's son, Kenyon, and his fiance, Natalie, are also in town for the festival and will be joining us for good times together.

Whew! We'll be exhausted (but happy) come Monday. Fortunately we'll have a few days of complete downtime before we head home.

Enjoy the weekend!!

Kevin and Mellisa,

We are selling our Palm Desrt Home and joining the Motorcoach Country Club!

It was so nice that you guys could visit us at our home in the desert. We love Eddy V's.

Now that Cynthia and I are in your blog, we feel like movie stars in our Cadillac golf cart.

The Motorcoach is your last stop? Completing the amazing 1 year adventure.

Love y'all

You guys would love Motorcoach Country Club. So many amenities and so many friendly neighbors. But you guys have a beautiful home with an awesome backyard so that might be a tough sell to Cynthia. 😀

We were SO excited to see ourselves on your blog that we briefly considered printing it out, framing it, and casually pointing it out to every guest who walks into our home. Thanks for making us feel famous for a solid 5 minutes 😄
