I wasn't even gonna post about Florence, MS since it was just a brief 2-day stop on our way to Orange Beach, AL. However, we really enjoyed our stay so here's some notes.

Florence is a town of less than 5,000 residents about 15 minutes south of Jackson, MS. Wendy Oaks RV Park looked like a nice place with full hook-ups and they have an 8 acre lake. The park itself is a little more rustic than we normally like but it turned out to be a great stop. We chose a pull-thru, lakefront site and it was perfect. Big grass area right in front of the lake for the dogs and a nice walking path around the lake.

We loved all the Halloween decorations throughout the park and we enjoyed morning kayaking on the lake. Melissa made a trip to the local butcher that had an amazing selection of meats, so we're stocked up with as much as we can keep in Betty.

Melanie, the owner of the park, was super friendly. Turns out that she used to live close to us in Southern California. We shared some stories and pondered life together. She shared one of her favorite songs (I Lived by One Republic) with me and I share one of mine (The Sunscreen Song by Baz Luhrmann) with her. Both songs are worth a listen.

It had been a while since Betty and Lou got a good cleaning so they both got washed inside and out. We arrived in Orange Beach, AL yesterday and, I assure you, we're gonna have a great time here. I'll give you all the details in my post next week.

Enjoy the weekend!!
