We did four nights at Fiesta Key RV Resort and I have mixed feelings about the resort. They advertise that they have a waterfront restaurant and bar. Well...they do have both of those but neither is operational. Apparently they both have been closed for a few months as they work through new contracts. That's one of the reasons we chose the resort, so definitely disappointing. Paved roads throughout the resort but their RV sites are ALL gravel. No grass what so ever. Gravel is hard packed so no problem and hookups where super easy. Just wish there was a little grass for the girls. However, plenty of grass around the office, pool, and dog park. So that's a positive. Pool was nice and they have two hot tubs! Facilities were clean and well kept. Some staff were super friendly. Others weren't rude but they certainly weren't going out of their way to be friendly. We did have a waterfront site where we watched some beautiful sunsets! In conclusion, mostly good. Some not so good.

The resort hosted a dog "pawty" one day that the girls enjoyed.

Remember the green bomber worms from our stay in Key West? Saw some more in Fiesta Key. I know I'm weird but they're fascinating to watch.

We took a short drive to Islamorada and made a stop at Robbie's. It's sort of a compound that includes a restaurant, bar, marina, antique store and some other eclectic stuff. They get a lot of tarpon fish swimming around the marina and you can buy a small bucket of anchovies to feed to the tarpon if you're brave enough and you can fend off the pelicans.😧 Of course I had to give it a try. Check out the videos in the "Pictures" section. Let's just say I have a VERY minor war wound but I still have all my fingers. 🤣

We'd been looking for manatees for the past several weeks and we finally got to see one while we were at Robbie's. That was a first for Melissa so she was super excited.

Quick update on Betty: The toilet in my bathroom is a push button flush and it decided to stop working. I couldn't figure it out so I had a mobile mechanic come out. Turns out the toilet just needed a manual reset which I now know how to do. We also talked about the leak that I've been chasing. He confirmed that the work the previous guy did was well done. Then he and I went in search of where the water could still be coming from. Well...we found some additional areas that obviously needed to be filled with silicon. He helped me with a few other things as well, so well worth the cost of the visit. No rain in the immediate forecast but I'll keep you updated on the pesky leak.

Speaking of weather...all the rain we got in the early months of our adventure has been replaced with fantastic weather. Here's a snapshot of our weather from this week. Literally 3 degrees difference between the high and low.

Love it! 😎

Easy drive to Fort Lauderdale where we'll be staying for a week. Weather looks just as good here and check this place out: https://yachthavenpark.com/. Should be a fun week, especially since I got a little surprise from Melissa when we got here. She rented us a boat for the week and we got a dock that's less than a one minute walk from or RV site. Let's go!

Enjoy the weekend!
